Brighten up your day with BREAKFAST!

DSCF9144Foooooooooood. A common object of love. I mean, really, who doesn’t like it? Yet, for numerous reasons, we often reject the most important serving of it. That’s right, breakfast. School nurses, doctors, parents, they’ve probably told you this already.

For some people, it’s a lack of time.

For some, it’s a watchful eye on their weight. But guess what? Eating within an hour of getting up boosts your metabolism. A.k.a. you will burn more fat. A.k.a. eat breakfast, even if you are trying to lose weight.

For others, it’s a lack of motivation.

And there’s tons of other reasons and I am here to inspire you to eat breakfast.

-hearty

-protein-rich

-low in sugar

-rich in fibre

-something you will ACTUALLY EAT!

So, what are some good choices for breakfast?

-First of all, check Pinterest or any cooking websites or any books or anything of the sort, and you will be able to chose from an infinite number of more-than-edible breakfast concoctions.

Oats: This high-fibre, filling, healthy breakfast can come in a package from Quakers, or you can get creative and cook up your own with oats, brown sugar, fruit, etc.

DSCF9381-Eggs: Until a week or two ago, I hated eggs for breakfast because I thought they were so plain and bland. But… then I made myself a piece of toast, scrambled some egg, and smothered it with cheese to create a delicious breakfast sandwich that I have replicated many times since. Breakfast burritos, omelettes, and frittatas are more options to make yourself wonder why you don’t eat eggs every morning. 

Fruit: It’s sweet. It’s addictive. It’s delicious. It’s healthy. And it makes for a great start to the day. Try making your own fruit salad, or get real fancy and blend up a fruit smoothie.

Yogurt: Yogurt on its own might not be satisfactory for brightening up your day, but if you swirl in some fruit, cereal, and other goodness, you’ve got yourself an oh-so-good parfait.

DSCF9303Now, get creative! Search the internet for something that sparks your interest, and break-the-fast with breakfast!

Food+energy+yum= why wouldn’t you eat breakfast?

Oh, and if you get the chance, breakfast can also be a great time to try out cool restaurants 🙂 Red’s Diner. OEB.
