What is a terrace? Typically, all homes in Kerala (a southern state in India) have an open balcony on the roof of their house. Here, clothes are hung out to dry. Not only that, sometimes even ingredients to make homemade food items are left on the terrace to dry before they are crushed or ground for cooking. For me, the terrace is a place where I come to think. With the fresh air and the sights of the palm trees all around me, I feel totally calm and relaxed. I wish I had one of these on top of my house in Canada!
