Rolling Stone cover featuring Dzhokhar Tsarnaev a surefire way to cause controversy!

1

Magazines are no strangers to shying away from the norm, and are often known to be ruthless in publishing disputable material. Stirring up controversy in pursuit of seems to be the holy grail of life: money. Time after time, magazine covers display eye-catching but controversial  figures, ideas and subjects. Magazines like Time, The New Yorker and the Rolling Stone have come under fire many times: from Time naming Adolph Hitler as the Time’s Person of the Year for 1938, the New Yorker depicting Barack Obama dressed as Osama bin Laden in a 2008 cover, to recently, the Rolling Stone using one of Dzhokhar Tsarnaev’s self-taken pictures as its cover, after seemingly editing it a little to feature the alleged Boston bomber in a softer light.

Dzhokhar Tsarnaev graces Rolling Stone cover

For the folks who don’t know about Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, he was arrested due to his connection to the April 15, 2013 bombing of the Boston Marathon which purportedly killed 3 individuals and injured over 260 people (the numbers are still unclear as different news outlets report different numbers of casualties and victims). He was on the run but was found soon on April 19, 2013, due to an injury resulting from scuffling with police, that left him holed up in a boat…while the same scuffle led to the death of his brother and another bombing suspect,  Tamerlan Tsarnaev. About a week ago, Tsarnaev appeared in court and pleaded not guilty to each of the 30 charges that were placed against him, one of which includes using a weapon of mass destruction to kill, a charge that carries high penalties such as death itself.

Anyways, when Tsarnaev graced the cover of the August issue of Rolling Stone, absolute outrage ensued, especially in the seemingly ‘free’ and ‘anonymous’ environment that the Internet provides and enriches. The Rolling Stone Facebook page was dropping likes every time I refreshed the page, and each of their posts were swamped with comments from Facebook users that seemed to run along the lines of “Rolling Stone supporting terrorism, being un-American, and being a/an [insert obscenity here].” There is a strong divide between the group that vehemently protests the cover vs. the group that either doesn’t care, doesn’t know about the Boston Marathon bombing incident or supports the cover.

Well, either way, both parties were trading insults (for we all know that calling each other idiots over the Internet really makes a difference in another person’s manner/thoughts). However, this isn’t your run-of-the-mill Internet fight for chain stores like CVS/Pharmacy and Walgreens are banning the copies off of their shelves before they are even sent out.

In my opinion, people are becoming extremely involved and expediting precious time and energy over a magazine cover that was obviously meant to cause controversy. By spewing outrage on any number of social media outlets, one is just playing into the magazine’s hands like putty, for any amount of buzz generates more revenue for the magazine as more people are exposed to it and its influence and audience increases as more people are looking forward to obtaining a copy of the issue, just to see what all the fuss is about, and possibly looking forward to future issues with the same juicy morsel of controversy tied to it. The caption under Tsarnaev’s picture reads: “The Bomber: How a popular, promising student was failed by his family, fell into radical Islam and became a monster.” The heading should be obvious as to the point of this cover: to make seemingly sane individuals become offended and insane with rage, and feed their inherent curiosity about Tsarnaev by researching him, condemning him (and adding on whatever drove him, his religion a convenient answer) through all manners of social networking sites.

Seeing most of the major news outlets broadcast the cover and give their respective comments on it, I can only imagine the top executives of the Rolling Stone hierarchy cackling in glee. I personally think that this cover is an obvious ruse and that people should remain calm (after all, what goes on the Internet never really leaves it), but blogging about this cover seems a tad bit ironic. Anyways, what are your opinions on this whole Rolling Stone/Dzhokhar Tsarnaev controversy?

Recollecting Sun and Salsa experience

0

Last summer, I was bored out of my mind because hey, after immense pressure and ever-increasing loads of schoolwork and commitments, when 2 months with no pressure and little to no schoolwork stretches out in front of you, it can often seem cavernous. It’s funny how we often look towards summer holidays as the pinnacle of our existence, the blessed medicine to soothe our hurts and fears, and the light at the end of the tunnel…but when they come strolling around, we find that we are at a loss of what to do with all this time on our hands. After the thrill of having no sleeping or eating schedule wears off, the days become tedious which arises feelings of listlessness in us. To get rid of my boredom, I turned to one of my hobbies: volunteering. I was familiar with Calgary’s downtown scene so I checked out some street festivals through the Internet. The first festival I volunteered at was the Sun and Salsa, which is occurring this year on Sunday,  July 21st from 11am – 5pm at Kensington.

My volunteer experience was very relaxed. When I first went to the volunteer tent, I got a free t-shirt. I got to wait inside the tent, talking to other volunteers and just observing the people entering Kensington. I got up occasionally to help sign-in and keep track of the volunteers and their roles. After the volunteers went on their respective paths, I got to sit back and relax. Occasionally, I had to direct errant volunteers, carry items to other supervisors, and tell specific volunteers to come back or go somewhere else. Also, there were free granola bars and juice throughout the whole day, and during lunch, there were delicious sandwich and fruit trays. The volunteer coordinator was really nice and understanding. Overall, my volunteer experience there was a blast!

After I volunteered, I went around each and every stall to experience the entirety of the festival. Of course, the lines for the salsa were very long and getting through the street was difficult but I managed to push through. Even though there was a crowd in front of the entertainment stages and I couldn’t see the dancers because I’m a height-disadvantaged individual, I went around to the back of the stage where it was relatively free of people and I got to sit down and enjoy the show. The stalls themselves were filled with many interesting items from traditional African art and scented soaps by Scentsy to more familiar sights like face-painting, hair-dressers, gyms and art shops vending their wares. There was an amusing Car2Go event present where individuals tried to parallel park with the tiny car in the shortest amount of time possible, to win a Car2Go for themselves. There were lot of freebies passed around, like stickers, pins, skipping ropes and gym bags. There was an overall atmosphere of joviality and happiness, supported by the blazing summer day that accompanied this event.

Overall, the event was quite fun and I can’t wait to go there again this year!

Summer break is almost halfway over and I would like to remind those of you out there of a really cool festival happening this Sunday. It is the annual Sun & Salsa Festival in Kensington occurring on July 21, 2013 from 11am to 5pm. One of the largest one day festivals in Calgary, Sun & Salsa Festival is in their 20th anniversary with over 75000 people attending last year. During the course of the day, 1000 L of Salsa and 10 000 bags of chips will be used.

From their Facebook
From their Facebook

This year, there will be 22 Salsa Stations, 11 patios, a kids area and 2 stage performer areas, along with numerous local vendor booths. The festival starts at 11am so make sure to attend early as the four chip stations will close by 3pm, and also to avoid the long lines! Remember that each bag of chips supports Sun & Salsa’s two charities-Hillhurst Sunnyside Community Association and Norfolk Housing.

From their website
From their website

The festival takes place on 10th street from Memorial Drive to 5th Street as well as on Kensington Road from 10th Street to 13th Street. As for transportation, the festival is very close to the Sunnyside LRT station as well as numerous bus routes-405, 419, 145, 1, 5, and 9. Roadside parking restrictions in the neighborhood have also been lifted. And of course, there is always the option of biking or walking to the event!

Make sure you check out the festival website as well as their Twitter and Facebook for updates and news.

See you this Sunday!

17 Reasons Canada Is Better Place To Live Than The USA

We all know that Canada is a magnificent nation. It’s just that Canadians don’t show enough patriotism for their country. We just aren’t that type of people. Especially, that we have that neighbour down stairs that always seems to overshadow us. Yes, I’m talking about Americans. They constantly say how much better America is than Canada, that it has just gotten annoying. So here is an ode to 17 reasons why Canada is better than the United States.

Unique J-Pop tunes worth listening to

0

I’m not Japanese and I can’t understand it but there are some tunes that I definitely enjoy listening to regardless if I know what they’re saying or not. There’s something magical that makes the language sound differently musically than the English language. If you’re relatively new to J-pop, the songs may seem strange to you because you haven’t heard the majority of J-pop (and neither have I, but I’ve listened to a few hundred). These are some songs that I’ve found are different and a nice change of pace.

So, without further ado, here’s some unique catchy J-pop tunes, all different in their own way:

Lovely Icecream Princess Sweetie – EGOIST
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E0MgXudV6t8

I KNOW WHAT YOU’RE THINKING. “OH GOD, THIS IS GOING TO BE THE WORST SONG IN THE WORLD. YOU HAVE TERRIBLE TASTE TREVIN. WHAT IS WRONG WITH THIS SONG’S NAME.”

Yes, I probably do have bad taste. But aside from that, the song’s title is pretty much completely unrelated to the song. It’s not the extremely cute girly song that you were expecting – it’s somewhat of a more modern, stylish, smooth song. I’m not really sure how to put it – it’s almost a glidy, cloudy song. You just sail along on the lyrics. Her pitch remains pretty constant throughout the song, reaching a state of monotone at times. It’s very poppy and yet very clean at the same time.

Yellow Moon – Akeboshi
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yv0ixjeowwY

A very smooth, thoughtful song. It’s catchy but remains an air of elegance that seems to naturally wind you down. Perfect choice for an ending. There is use of English in this song mixed with Japanese, which makes this song more unique than most J-pop tunes. I enjoy that it’s head bobbingly catching without being annoyingly all up in your face. The singers voice is somewhat low and has a dreamy quality, which is relaxing.

Kesenai Tsumi – Nana Kitade
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xWyHZjBj2v4

Very interesting opening with the sirens and another instrument which I cannot name. It’s somewhat low maintenance, remaining catchy without being too screamy or annoyingly cute, which is why it was probably chosen for an ending. The singer’s voice is very unique in the chorus. It’s normally somewhat high but she adds some kind of yodle or inflection onto her voice when it reaches the chorus, which makes it weirdly even catchier. Or maybe just annoying to some people.

Need Your Love – Do As Infinity
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yRLZ370orVE

Extremely weird song… It’s depressing in a way. The song makes you feel like you’re floating in the middle of nowhere. The instruments make it very full and allows the song to have a lot of depth. It’s deep, calming and yet piercing in a way. It’s just so weird because it’s so.. brain dead and yet so energetic. Plus the TV static is pretty creepy. It’s a song that you can vegetate to all day because it makes you feel so weirdly apathetic and insignificant. It’s hopeful yet sad. Once you read the lyrics, you’ll understand what I mean.

Happy Material – Original to Negima
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WCCOEOihmt0

“BUT TREVIN, THIS MOUTH IS SO SICKINGLY CUTE AND YOU HATE CUTENESS!” Yes, I do. The first time I heard this I was like “oh god” but moving on past the cheesiness and the kawaiiness, it just seems to be an extremely upbeat, cheerful song. It’s catchy, simple, and mind-numbingly happy. Plus, the multitude of different voices makes it extremely unique, as you literally have six different voice actors splitting each and every verse in the song. Not to mention that there are six different versions all with their own theme and instruments.

I hope you enjoyed some of these unique J-pop tunes. If you wanna listen to some more J-pop, I recommend you head over to Armitage’s Dimension (they have good taste), an anime radio. For mp3 downloads, Gendou’s Anime Music is a good choice. I’d also recommend the albums of supercell (also known as EGOIST I believe.) If you’re relatively new to J-pop, check out the more mainstream music which tends to be catchier and appeals to a wider audience, which means famous openings from big name anime like One Piece.

The High Life

Maybe it’s because they don’t know what to spend all of their money on. Or maybe because “they won’t get in trouble since they are famous”.  Whatever the reason, it  seems that more and more celebrities are doing drugs, and even if they don’t mean to, are promoting them to their young fans. Now I am sure we can all agree that youth make up the majority of the fandoms surrounding celebrities like Justin Bieber and Lindsay Lohan who, have both received high media attention for drug usage. When the media is involved, the young fans are involved. We are exposed to drug related topics all the time, but it doesn’t really spark as much controversy as it does when someone wears something questionable on the red carpet. I believe this is because teens and kids just seem to not care as much, because drugs and alcohol are shown well, everywhere.

Celebrities are more or less, promoting the usage of drugs, alcohol, and cigarettes by making it seem more normal, because can be seen on tv and the internet so frequently.
Celebrities are more or less, promoting the usage of drugs, alcohol, and cigarettes by making it seem more normal, because can be seen on tv and the internet so frequently.

With that said, I don’t see why these celebrities don’t just smarten up and use the attention to actually be  better role models, instead of using drugs to get more famous. I know it is probably easier said then done; maybe if the stars weren’t famous they would still do drugs because it might be  more of an addiction than the fame factor, but the least they could do is try. I am also aware that the ones who do say that they are clean and that they want to be a role model aren’t always truthful. We have no idea what all of these stars do behind closed doors, or should I say off camera.

Cory Monteith the 31 year old "glee" star died this Saturday due to a heroin and alcohol mixed overdose

Celebrities that have been released from rehab could use that as a learning experience to teach their fans. Just like Demi Lovato has done by speaking up about self harm and self confidence after she went to rehab for her eating disorder. Even though there is lots of room for improvement, it still helps. If only some of the other stars could come back down from the sky, and actually realize the encouragement they are showing towards teens that do drugs, because, “nothing bad has happened to me yet”. If all youth could help each other by promoting sober living, that’d be great. Unfortunately we can’t be heard as well as the ones with the cameras in front of them all day, that in my opinion, are doing the exact opposite.

Steps to drawing a not-so-monochromatic Jaguar

Summer brings adventure and relaxation! It’s the time to keep the brain learning and doing! One of mine is to just draw my heart out when I couldn’t before in the school year.

Here are some of the steps I had taken to drawing a not-so-monochromatic Jaguar. Be ready and committed to sit in a chair for 5 hours straight.

Step 1: Draw the fundamental shapes and outline. I start with a light outline of the head and work my way to the features of the face. ~4-5 hours

Original photo: Makdizzle18 http://makdizzle18.deviantart.com/art/Jaguar-174717923

Step 2: Define the features. Again, I define a group of features one at a time. There were mini-steps in adding just the whiskers, just the spots, just the ear and just the nose. I tried different techniques, including stippling for the nose. ~4-5 hours

Step 3: Shade, emphasize and further define key features. Recognizing the light source is important! ~ 5-6 hours

Those Awareness Events in 2013 – Canada’s Parks Day

0
None other than the amazing lake Louise!
Lake Louise it is!

Now now, what is this thing you speak of? – July 20th (this Saturday) is home to Canada’s Parks Day, a commemoration of our National and Provincial Parks. Over 3% of the country’s land mass is comprised of National Parks, with the first one of course being Banff. The third National Park established in the world is further complemented by four other National Parks and 5oo Provincial Parks that account for around 12% of Alberta’s land area. Hosted by the Canadian Parks Council on every third Saturday in July since 1990, these getaways are promoted especially to encourage us all to venture out into the heart of nature.

Awesome Commemoration Stories – On Friday, July 19th, the CN Tower will light up in green, blue, and yellow at night so to welcome this awareness day. Be sure to watch for updates on this post as photos are released on the interweb!

KickingHorse
Taken at the Kicking Horse Resort. 🙂

Focal Local Highlight – The main deal is to head out to our parks! You can view what Parks Canada has planned for celebrations that day at national parks across the country here. Similarly, Alberta Parks has a listing of activities at participating provincial parks here.

What ACTIONS you may take –

  • Head out into nature! Take a part in the celebrations mentioned above and make it an outdoor day.
  • Tweet with the hashtag #ParksDay!
  • Make it an insightful celebration by getting in the know about the state of our parks –  The Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society (CPWS) has released their annual report ; check out a summary here and take a read at the Herald’s report on Tuesday here.

You know my final word – I think you know it already – do it in whatever capacity you can! 🙂

Spicing up a Sugar Cookie

0

Sugar cookies on their are always an awesome treat, but because they are so plain, they also provide a great base for making other types and flavors of cookies. The simple and essential ingredients found in a good sugar cookie can be easily modified and changed to create a whole new different cookie- some of my favorites involve the addition of only one or two extra ingredients to the original sugar cookie recipe.

To start off, you will need to prepare sugar cookie dough.  This recipe is simple and easy to work with.

After making your dough, the first variation of the sugar cookie involves adding sweetened coconut shavings to the dough. I usually just eyeball the amount of coconut I add to my dough, but depending on personal preference, adjust to your own liking. However, I’ve noticed that coconut shavings are not very noticeable in small amounts, so do keep that in mind when adding it to the mixture. After the cookies are baked, I top then off with some more coconut and leave them to cool.

co

To make an almond cookie, simply add some almond extract to the dough. Unlike coconut shavings however, a little almond extract goes a long way- I added a teaspoon to mine. If you’re a fan of a cookie with more texture, you can also add shaved almonds to the dough as well. If you, like me, are not so much a fan, just garnish the baked cookies with icing and almond chunks for the perfect crunch.

al

For a cookie with a chocolate taste, bake the sugar cookies as normal and wait until they have cooled down. After they cool, spread them with nutella and add chocolate chips on top. I love this variation because it’s basically making a chocolate chip cookie without actually making one.

Decisions Decisions….

2

For those heading to university this fall, this is about the time when all your decisions must be final. If you’re like me, and you procrastinated until now to make a decision, it’s really okay. I mean when most people ask me where I’m going for university, and I reply “Uhmm, yeah, I’m not entirely sure yet”, their first response is “What…”, and then comes “How have you not made a decision yet?”.

Frustration-580x385

Well, it’s not like I’ve haven’t made a decision entirely, but I’ve cut the ones that for sure I’m not going, and reconsidered the ‘maybes’, and then narrowed it down to 2 potentially ‘YESES’.

I don’t know about most people, but deciding where to go for university is really hard. I mean choosing this place that you’re spending potentially and apparently ‘the best 4 years’ of your life is a lot of pressure on yourself. I can’t decide whether to stay at home or move away. All those goals and ideas you have in the beginning of the year shift as you mature and understand the atmosphere of becoming a university student (and as your rejection letters pile up).

But anyways, for those seniors and non-seniors heading to university, it’s really crunch time!

decision-making-softwareDMS

While I’m facing these dilemmas myself, I thought I could share a little of my non-existent wisdom with you guys.

The Big Five, in no particular order, to consider while making you’re life changing decision…

1. Location (Importance may vary among people)

Some may want to move away to a big city, some may prefer to move to a so-called ‘school town’ (Ahem, Kingston), while some may not mind at all. But the location really contributes to much of your university experiences. As big as the campus may be, after a year of school, I’m pretty sure you’re going to see most of it and want to explore more. So the student life outside of campus, accessibility for students, and student benefits within the city, town, village…etc, is really important for these upcoming four years.

2. Student Experiences

It’s great to learn from you’re ‘ancestors’? Find those who have tested the water before you and get their input. No matter how great the school representatives might make it sound, at the end of the day it’s really your experience you’re worried about. Those who can relate have been in your shoes, so don’t be afraid to go online and definitely do your research more thoroughly! (There are top-notch schools with very bad student experiences in various aspects, whether it’s academically or not, take everything into account, you’re ‘winner’ must be the best quality!)

3. Quality of Student Services

This is really important for upcoming freshmen to lookout for. There have been past instances where the school may be great, but the student services are not. Maybe there’s no one really there to guide students through their studies or preparing for their careers or pursuing a post-graduate degree. Like student experiences, it’s good to ask around, and sometimes you can learn a lot by calling and asking random questions. I’ve called a few of my schools for legitimate reasons, to ask about my application and other course information, and there’s really a difference in attitude and quality. I’m not going to say which schools, but those schools who truly care about their students will treat both their current and prospective students well. If you click with your telephone assistant person, then by all means, go for it!

4. Reputation (To an extent, don’t worry too much if you’re pursuing a post-graduate degree)

I know a lot of people choose to attend certain schools because ‘it sounds good’, even if they dislike the location or the school. I mean reputation matters to an extent, but if you’re pursuing a post-graduate degree, it matters less in the future. If you really want to stay home for school instead of moving away to a big-name school, ie. staying for University of Calgary or move away for University of Toronto, then consider this point. I mean if you’re moving away for Harvard or Stanford, that’s on a whole other level and a completely different story.

5. Quality of administration

This is basically the quality of teachers and staff. It’s somewhat similar to student services, but in a more administrative perspective. Some schools might be known for their teaching styles and certain teachers, some for having a ‘chillax’ environment, while others could have heavy bureaucracy. This really ties into the atmosphere of the campus and the entire school. This all depends on whether you enjoy being in a campus that feels prestigious, relaxing, calm, or friendly.

choose1

Obviously, my top 5 as a student may not be the same as your parents or yourself, but hopefully, this gave a little insight to you procrastinators! Regardless of where you end up, Best of Luck!

Caucasian or Asian Invasion?

I have a been an avid fan of the Asian community on YouTube, from the classic works of Nigahiga to the hilarity of KevJumba,  and of course the innovative Wong Fu Productions. Earlier this week, I was once again procrastinating and wasting away many more precious hours on YouTube. That is when I stumbled upon a recent post by Wong Fu Productions, “Saved by the Bell: The Movie.”

Retrieved from: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/5/5a/Saved_By_the_Bell_Title_Card.jpg/220px-Saved_By_the_Bell_Title_Card.jpg
Retrieved from WikiMedia

This short had me shockingly, yet genuinely pondering about the faults in our society.

The video features almost a complete Asian cast in a movie based on the most iconic cult favorite of the 1990’s, “Saved by the Bell.” Known to be one of the most beloved series apart of the lives of mainly Caucasian adolescents of the time, Wong Fu Productions certainly proposed a staggering statement by supposedly enlisting an almost all Asian cast to play the roles of these greatly admired characters.

The YouTube skit pokes fun at how North American movie companies have exploited many of the most cherished Asian sources of entertainment of our generation. For example, Dragon Ball Z, or as the American film studios franchised

Retrieved from http://images.wikia.com/dragonball/images/2/29/6846_dragon_ball_z_hd_wallpapers.jpg
Retrieved from http://images.wikia.com/dragonball/images/2/29/6846_dragon_ball_z_hd_wallpapers.jpg

it, Dragonball:Evolution. The protagonist of the story, Goku, was acted out by a Caucasian actor in the Hollywood rendition. This was much to public dismay of fans of the original Dragonball series; I think we all can remember how the so-called ‘movie’ version turned out. To provide another exemplar of how Asian fan favorites were exploited by Caucasian entertainers, let us remember Speed Racer. Originally a Japanese manga, the story was again manipulated to suit a Caucasian actor as the main character.

But there are not just the negatives to Hollywood’s recreations of original Asian plots. The mafia cop film, The Departed originated from China, but was remade by the much acclaimed director Martin Scorsese. The Departed, starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Matt Damon is now arguably one of the best cop films of our time.

Retrieved from http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/5/50/Departed234.jpg/220px-Departed234.jpg
Retrieved from WikiMedia

Is there not a much greater issue behind whether these Caucasian renditions of Asian stories are successful or not?

Nowadays it simply feels as if all of these Hollywood film studios are purposefully casting Caucasians to replace formerly Asian roles. The casino thriller, 21 was originally based around Asian-Americans, but the film cast a mainly ‘white’ actors in the main roles. Cloud Atlas also was defiled for casting a Caucasian and allotting the use of makeup to fulfill the actor as an Asian character. With such controversy resulting from the public, why would these large transnationals refrain from casting an Asian entertainer to fill the part?

That is the main inquiry to be asked. Perhaps, directors are not finding the exact ‘je ne sais quoi’ from the Asian acting community for their acclaimed casting roles. Or maybe Hollywood truly desires to totally transform Asian series to suit the culture and audience of Caucasians. But it is no question that the Asians have arrived and whether it is just for their plots or fan favourites, are conquering the entertainment realm of Hollywood, one way or another.

The event started off with Martin (unarmed 17 year old that resided in Sanford, Florida where the scene took place)  walking to his father’s home after stopping at 7-Eleven to buy skittles and iced tea. He passed by George Zimmerman, a neighborhood watch volunteer. George began to follow Martin because he was acting in a suspicious wayimages (1). Zimmerman phoned the police and continued to follow Martin through the gated community. Soon later they confronted. The police do not know who aggravated the other and that left a massive hole in piecing together the evidence. The police sifted through Martin’s texts and found evidence of him smoking marijuana and taking part in fights but the police have not released the in-detail evidence to the public.  Zimmerman’s lawyer used the United State’s self-defense laws to his advantage when defending Zimmerman due to the specifics that are put into it. Zimmerman used the outdated law to work his way through court and become considered innocent.

In my opinion George Zimmerman is innocent because there was a lack of evidence in the case as-well as the outdated US self defense laws. If the self defense laws were updated, it is likely that Zimmerman would have been guilty because of other factors. For example, George did not follow orders from the 911 call and remain  inside the car. For these reasons, Zimmerman’s trial has resulted in him being released.

Cost – $8

What makes it worthwhile – First of all, these nachos aren’t made with typical nacho chips: they’re made with real potato slices! Topped with all the great fixings like sour cream, olives, green onions and tomatoes, this dish is quite yummy. It’s filling because you’re eating a lot of potatoes, and there’s always a nice burst of flavor with potatoes and “the fixings.” If you’re looking for a meal, go elsewhere: but if you wanted to try a filling snack, go to Tracy’s Idaho Taqueria and try the nachos or Midway favorite, the taco!
