I wish I could say that my name is Cordelia or that I can recite "The Highwayman" from memory or even that I live on Prince Edward Island. While these facts are unfortunately untrue, you can probably tell by now that I am a die-hard Anne of Green Gables fan! My name is Sarena Dharshi and I can say that one of my favourite poems is Tennyson's "The Lady of Shalott" and I have indeed visited Charlottetown, P.E.I. Some other fun facts about me: I attend Western Canada High School, my favourite colour is turquoise and I am a huge Harry Potter fan. I love writing and performing spoken word poetry and I am also a blogger for The Huffington Post.

Every Sunday for as long as I can remember, I sit down with my dad after a long and tiring week to read the “funnies” at breakfast and play a competitive game of spot-the-difference in the Calgary Herald. During my junior high and high schools years, I have also developed the habit of keeping up…
This is one of my favourite poems, taken out of the poetry collection “What Narcissism Means to Me” by Tony Hoagland. Credit to the Poetry Foundation for a copy of the poem. The poem is accompanied by a fitting picture of Boston University, which I took. Windy today and I feel less than brilliant, driving over…
I had the privilege of visiting the world famous statue of John Harvard in the Harvard University courtyard. The inscription on it states: “John Harvard, Founder, 1638.” If you are a fan of the movie The Social Network, you will be familiar with the three lies associated with the statue. If not, here they are:…
