It's unbelievably amazing how writing autobiographical information can lead to a life-threatening (not to mention eye-twitching) case of writer's block! This leaves me no choice but to do so in the most uncreative way one could proceed: in lists. Although, enumerating facts is arguably the most logical route, as Sherlock Holmes may express. It, however, does not wholly illustrate my passion for visual arts, travel, and - as speculated - my tendency to live in novels of brilliance. My quiet nature could rival that of Holmes when he withdraws into his depths, but my wonderment toward metropolitan cities such as London and Paris parallels Nick Carraway's as he plunges into the world of The Great Gatsby. But enough ranting about oneself! Please enjoy our articles and do not hesitate to leave your thoughts underneath - we love to hear from you!
It is a boundless world. Many visualized it as channels and interconnections between sender and receiver – information anxiously speeding along police-free highways to their destination. I’ve always seen it as an ocean, though, where waves lapped at the shore in the fog and sparkled at sunset. Millions and millions of individuals like ourselves trapped…
“To photograph is to hold one’s breath, when all faculties converge to capture fleeting reality. It’s at that precise moment that mastering an image becomes a great physical and intellectual joy.” — Henri Cartier-Bresson The power of photography is limitless. It is worth more than a thousand words; more than an anecdote. It can convince you…
With the fast approach of Remembrance Day, quite often the only thought pounding in many of our minds is the long weekend that is unavoidably linked with the national holiday. Better yet, more class time will be missed for the Remembrance Day assembly. How eventful can November get?! At least that was the view I’ve…
The Cliché Don’t judge a book… The majority of you reading this probably completed the above sentence in your head without even knowing it – or without wanting to. The common phrase scolding the act of forming an opinion of others only based upon their appearance is never out of earshot. While it is true…
October can be easily romanticized into the month of orange, of fluttering leaves and pumpkins and first snowfalls. After months of lazing haze, October is when the wind realizes its duties with a sudden swiftness. Oh dear! Oh dear! I shall be too late! it echoes after the white rabbit. The prospect of winter, of…
Remember that dance class you always went to when you were little? Or perhaps was it art class? Sports practice? Science fairs? We all have left something behind in the past in order to make room for new activities; namely, school, work, and… school? Time just doesn’t allow it. However, comic artist Grant Snider illustrates…
“To photograph is to hold one’s breath, when all faculties converge to capture fleeting reality.” – Henri Cartier-Bresson Why taking pictures is a crime Tourists gather under the magnificent structure in the light drizzle, heads tilting upward, staring at the little screens held tightly in their hands; a few already snapping away the moment: they…
Is IB right for you? Being a recent graduate of the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme, I simply could not escape the malevolence that the IBO has shadowed over my life: living memories of sleepless days (feeling one’s body turning stone-cold, eyelids accelerating downwards at 9.81ms-2 whist trying to recite Shakespeare’s plays without noticing the frighteningly similar…
As the cliché goes, one man’s trash is another man’s treasure; but to share something you love with strangers around the world takes a whole new level of courage, altruism, and passion. Recently on Tumblr, I came across a project called Spread the Words Project started by April, an 18-year-old girl. Motivated by her love…
Once again, the long, relaxing days in the sunshine is approaching an end. The busy days of school life is doggedly following close behind what is the last wisp of the freedom gained during the summer holidays. Perhaps you are starting a new school; perhaps you are returning to the same old. Whichever it is,…

However, that is not to forget the tremendous damage brought on by the natural catastrophe. The Calgary Public…
As a result from the heavy rain that thundered across Alberta just a couple of weeks ago, Calgary was devastatingly affected, along with neighbouring towns. Whether one was in an evacuated area itself or safe from the reaches of flooding waters, the whole of the city was impacted all the same. It’s hard to imagine…
