5th Annual Bridges of Hope Refugee Camp Simulation

This came by our desk today, it sounds like an amazing and informative event:

11:00 am – 6:00 pm

Eau Claire Festival Market
200 Barclay Parade SW

The fifth annual interagency Bridges of Hope event offers Calgarians a chance to step inside the life of an average refugee. This simulation promotes awareness and understanding of the 42 million people worldwide that have been displaced by conflict and to celebrate the achievement of Calgary’s own refugee population.

Hosted by The Canadian Red Cross, Calgary Catholic Immigration Society, Immigrant Services Calgary, Mennonite Centre Committee and Calgary YMCA, this event is a citizen-driven initiative that helps us understand and appreciate the challenges that face refugees world wide. Designed to raise awareness at the local level, the simulation also serves to inspire creative and effective action in the fight against refugee issues.
