The flood relief efforts have been extraordinary at rebuilding our city: even with the excitement of the Stampede long gone, summer in Calgary has never been so promising, the streets continuously bustling with countless festivals and activities. However, that is not to forget the tremendous damage brought on by the natural catastrophe. The Calgary Public Library alone had an estimated 20 000 damaged books due to the flood!
A great way to contribute to the community at this time of need is by participating in the “20,000 Books Under the Bow” City-Wide Book Drive. As one who has a wondrous affinity for books and reading, I strongly urge you to dig up those long-forgotten books, DVDs, and CDs and donate it to your local library branch!
