Canada is hosting the 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup! I’m sure a lot of you didn’t know that – I didn’t even know that till about two days ago.
Canada’s female soccer team played the first match of the World Cup in Edmonton on June 6th. They defeated China with a score of 1-0. Christine Sinclair led Canada to its victory with her last minute penalty shot.
There was so much celebration in the field, and it’s really exciting that Canada, as the host country, started off with a win. It was obvious that the team of girls were very excited as well. They were seen celebrating after the match at a grocery store in Edmonton, it’s obvious soccer isn’t their only skill!
