Top 5 Planner Systems in 2021

I don’t know about you, but I’m obsessed with stationary. And notebooks. And most importantly, planners.

So here are my top 5 planner systems in 2021:

5. Google Calendars

This is a method that works for some, but not all. Through google calendar, you can schedule and organize your time, see your week at a glance, and much more. However, it’s a method that people who enjoy writing by hand may not enjoy. It is great for planning your day by the hour or to schedule specific times to get things done, keeping you more focused. Overall, google calendar is beneficial for managing time. To learn more about this tool, check out this article.

4. Traditional Paper Planners

This type of planner is for those who enjoy simplicity. You open your planner, jot down what you have to do for the day, and you’re done. However, there are few ways to customize a traditional store-bought planer, which can be seen as a drawback by many people. It can also be argued that using a paper planner helps with keeping track of appointments or deadlines. Digital planners and such can be distracting and aren’t always that easily accessible, unlike a planner. Additionally, many different styles can be found on the market.

3. Sticky Notes

I can guarantee that you’ve probably never heard of this one before, but, you’re probably guilty of using it. Sticky notes are an excellent way to jot down ideas, short to-do lists, or brainstorm. The best part, though, is that you can put them anywhere. I usually end up sticking them to my desk, computer, or to my door to remind me of something I need to do. By far, I would say that this is the most flexible method, though it is very easy for it to get disorganized.

2. Bullet Journaling

Bullet journaling holds a very special place in my heart. I may have only been bullet journaling for a couple of years, but it has brought me many benefits and joy in that time. Bullet Journaling is a method of tracking the past and organizing the future. You can use any type of notebook, and insert any type of “spread” that you want. This could be a place to track your habits or to write down your to-do list. It’s all up to you and completely customizable. I would recommend this for people who have a creative side (or just want to make use of their extremely large pen collection).

However, it can be time-consuming. Personally, I stopped bullet journaling as I found that it took me large amounts of time, so keep that in mind if you choose to use a bullet journal.

1.Notion

Notion. I can just imagine the word Notion with a halo above it and light surrounding it. Yes. It’s just that good.

Notion is a digital planner. You heard that right. Even I, someone who loves paper planners fell in love with a digital planner. Notion is an application with the capabilities such as notes, databases, Kanban boards, and much more. You can have calendars and pdf documents, all in this one tool. It’s like a digital version of a bullet journal, but with many more features. You can take notes, manage projects, track habits, anything you can imagine.

It takes a little time to get to know how to use the application, but in the end, it’s definitely worth it. Stay tuned for a Notion related article in the next couple of weeks 🙂
