Which university is the best?

Cal Tech, ranked number one on the Times Higher Education World University Rankings of 2011-12

Grade 12 is an exciting year. In the somewhat distant future, a grandiose celebration of achievements is ahead, but that only comes after one last year  of hard work. After more than a decade of formal schooling, it is said that during this last year, some acquire a condition known as Senior-itis, linked to apathy towards school and often, all else. However, for many more others, Grade 12 is more closely linked to university applications, leading to the more important outcome of acceptance into university. Now, I am in the firm belief that there is no dumb program that one can take in post-secondary education. I am no fan of engineering nor art history, but I respect the decisions of those who choose to take them. What I am on the fence about is the debate over which universities are better or the best. Annually, surveys are released on how universities rank based on numerous criteria. Here is a link to the most recent rankings offered by The Times Higher Education World University Rankings of 2011-12:

Leave a comment below and tell me what you think. Does it make a difference to do an undergrad at University of Calgary versus CalTech?

I'm Arielle, a Western Canada senior that loves English, playing piano, listening to CBC Radio 2 and spending time with family, especially my lamb look-a-like of a poodle. The way to my heart is probably through mac and cheese and a Modern Family marathon.
