My list of overexposed things in 2013

In the footsteps of one of my favorite YouTubers, Kingsley, I have decided to do my own Overexposed 2013. For anyone who doesn’t know who he is or what Overexposed means, it is pretty much a list of certain things such as songs, viral videos, celebrities and more that have gotten way too much hype this year and are basically overrated. So without further ado, here is my list of Overexposed 2013!

1. Vine: I do not see the appeal in Vine, and do not have an account. What is the point of the seven second video when you can just use the Instagram video feature or just put it on YouTube or Facebook? Some of them, like Bat Dad, are hilarious, but I think there are better platforms to put these videos on. I also do not appreciate the fact that these Vines are taking over my Facebook news feed. They are on a different social media site for a reason; keep them there.

2. Bed Intruder Song (Hide Your Kids Your Wife): I know this was a little while back, but it was annoying then and it’s still annoying now when someone occasionally sings it in the school hallway. 

3. Chloe Meme: You know Chloe, that little adorable, sassy girl from the Disneyland Surprise video? Her reaction to her sister freaking out over going to Disneyland was priceless, for the first three times the video was shown. Now I just make the same face as her every time someone tries to talk about that video.

4. North West: No I am not talking about the direction; I am talking about Kim Kardashian and Kanye West’s baby. The baby made headlines before she was even born. Although she will probably hate her name, I bet everyone else hates it even more, since that is all anyone has talked about the past few months.

5. Ariana Grande: I’m sorry but I do not think she is that special. Sure she can do Whistle Tones, that it very impressive. But I believe she is trying too hard to sound like Mariah Carey. She needs to build her own style and get off my Tumblr Dash.

6. Cruise By Florida Georgia Line: I immediately hated this song. It wasn’t even a wavering hate, like maybe if I listen to it more I’ll like it. I hate country to begin with but I do not understand how you can mix Country and Rap and actually get a positive response from it! I know a ton of people love this song but I cringe every time I hear it; Rap and Country need to stay a separate genre.
