Music in Calgary: A celebration of Brahms

Looking for top caliber classical music at the University of Calgary?

The UCalgary String Quartet has just released the remaining two dates featuring their latest concert series: “A Celebration Of Brahms.”

This is a three concert series that celebrates the works of Brahms and his contemporaries. Even though we’ve already missed the first December 2011 date, this series has two remaining features you won’t want to miss.

A Celebration Of Brahms II

March 2, 2012, 8 p.m.

This concert features string quartets by Brahms and Mozart. The world premiere of “Compassion” by local composer George Fenwick has also been commissioned by the UCalgary String Quartet.

Celebration Of Brahms III

Friday May 18, 2012, 8 p.m.

This concert features a piano quartet in A major by Brahms, piano quintet by Anton Kuerti, and Mendelssohn’s string quartet in A minor.

All concerts take place at the Rosza Centre on the U of C campus. Tickets are available at the door for $25 general and $18 students/seniors.

Hey what's up? I'm Stephen and I'm a 10th grade student currently @ Western Canada. I spend a lot of my time with music, especially playing violin with the CYO. When IB isn't keeping me busy, I love plugging in and playing basketball in my free time. Enjoy my posts. (:
