Olympic torch-bearing dates back to the earliest Olympics in Ancient Greece. The relay of the Olympic Flame symbolizes the “spreading the message of peace, unity and friendship,” where the torch is passed down from one Torchbearer to another. For all you Harry Potter movie fans out there, below is Rupert Grint carrying the torch (yay, this is very exciting?). But what makes this Rupert-Grint-torch-bearing-event noteworthy is the fans themselves. I thought the poster they created was pretty creative.
And of course, Lord Voldemort returns during the opening ceremonies on July 27!
