Youth Week Calgary 2011 is well underway, and there have been some fantastic stuff going on. I personally am pumped for the Wire Structure Jewelry Workshop I’m attending this Friday (There’s still room – you should come too!) but for the past few days, I’ve been participating in an event constantly: Impact Society’s HEROES T-Shirt Design Contest. Entries are welcome April 23 – May 8, so put on your creative cap and get designing!
Impact Society is dedicated to providing youth with opportunities to build confidence, character and integrity. They are looking for a t-shirt design that visually displays the HEROES program and what a HERO is. Impact Society defines a hero as someone who uses their gifts and abilities to make a positive change in themselves and others. What are your ideas? Can you make that idea into an awesome t-shirt design that you’d want to see youth wearing? Then get thinking!
So a little story about the design I’M submitting… 😉 I wanted to do a digital design, but all my ideas start out on paper. Right now I’m at the inking stage. Next is the colouring stage, then the scanning stage… So if you aren’t a full-fledged digital artist like me, I suggest you get it on paper and scan it! If the quality drops, you can lightly colour manage on a photo-editing program. Call 403-280-1856 ext 16 or email jaralyn@impactsociety.com if you have other ideas.
PS… the winning designer receives a $50 gift card to Southcentre Mall!
I cannot wait to see the designs that are submitted from the very talented and creative youth of Calgary! We need something fun…and I know we can find it through one of you…submit today on our website!
