Halloween Party Ideas!

Throwing a Halloween party and have no clue what to do? Here are some fun and random ideas you can do for Halloween!

1. Trick or Treating

Stock photo

The most basic and popular one of all. Go trick or treating! Some people might think that after you turn 13, you’re too old to go trick or treating. But whom are we kidding? Trick or treating is fun, always was, and always will be. Don’t ever think you’re too “mature” or too “old” to do something. This Halloween is on a Sunday, so let go and have fun! Let the child in you out (;

2. Potluck

Throw a potluck with some of your friends! Better yet, a cultural one. Pick a designated house to hold this event. Tell all of your friends to bring some kind of food from their culture. Have them prepare the food at home, or at the place where the potluck is located. Make sure that the food is nice and warm! With all of the delicious food, it should be a blast!

3. Dare Night!

This idea was taken from an episode of One Tree Hill. Split your group of friends into two teams. Then create a bunch of crazy dares that you and your friends can do. Try not to make them too extreme, or something that could get you into a lot of trouble. Put the dares on cards, and have an extra card from time to time that indicates a BONUS dare. Whichever team completes the most dares at the end of the night, wins. Everyone will have a night to remember!

4. Costume Photo Shoot

This will be especially fun for a group of girls. Have all of your friends dress up in any costume they wish. Then get a parent, of even one of you, to take pictures of each of you. Encourage everyone to do all kinds of crazy poses! Then have group pictures. If possible, change into different costumes. Print the pictures out afterwards, or post them on a site. That way you can have memories of that night forever!

5. Create Your Own Haunted House

Even with only a week left till Halloween, it’s not too late to create your very own haunted house! First you must decide on what space you want to use. It could be just the front and back yard, or even the garage. Or you can go just one area in your home. To go full on out, you can even use your whole house! You would have to find a way to lead the trick-or-treaters in the right direction so they aren’t wandering all around your home. Change your light bulbs to light bulbs of different colors. Get help from friends and family members to spook the people in your haunted house. Make sure to add all sorts of crazy scary things. Hang a dead skeleton, have big spider webs, decorate your walls and doors. The possibilities are endless. Don’t hold back and have fun with it!

6. Seven Deadly Sins Party

This one would be holding a party with the theme of the Seven Deadly Sins. Have your friends dress up as one of the Seven Deadly Sins: Pride, Lust, Freed, Envy, Sloth, or Wrath. Then have games that represent each of the 7 sins. For example, for Pride, hold some kind of contest. Maybe have a costume contest. The person has to describe why they believe their costume is best. For greed, have some kind of money game. You can create fake money and play some kind of game that involved money. Those are just a few of the endless ideas.

7. Murder Mystery Party

8. The Amazing Race

This is an “ Amazing Race” themed Halloween Party. It will take some extra work, but will be worth it in the end. Have your party members set into different teams. Then create different tasks that they must accomplish. Your clues can be located around different spots around your neighborhood. Maybe even have some of your neighbors give out the clues. Be creative!
