Find relatable music using MusicRoamer

Have you ever sought out new music and wanted it to be similar to your favourite artist, and you were too much of an interactive person to wade through the long loading times of iTunes? Simplicity and ease of access is a major factor when it comes to music hunting. Well there are many sites that allow for artists to be related to other artists whether with lists, webs, and so forth. TuneGlue, Music-Map, Bloson… the list goes on. However, I found one site that simply works that combines the best of everything: MusicRoamer.

MusicRoamer uses a visual web-like approach that attaches the artists’ thumbnails to them. Pretty neat as is, right? Well, there’s more. It has versatility in the sense that you control the number of artists that show up, the sizing and spacing, as well as zoom. So you can make the visual work for you! Oh what was that? There’s more? Each and every artist that shows up could be listened to. They use iTunes samples and lets you listen to artists right on the website. Even so, there’s also ways to relate songs, not just artists. So essentially you have a tree that branches off into infinitely many pathways; endless blossoms of music waiting to be discovered!

I searched Bon Iver, and connected to James Vincent McMorrow, which led to Daughter, which led to The Staves.  Fancy that, Bon Iver and The Staves are touring together. Funny how things always come full circle. It may also be proof that this site works and you really will encounter great finds. You will find new favourites, and your ears will thank you!

Hey there, I’m Bill Tran. My middle name is not Louis unfortunately but I do like BLTs. I’m a student at Western Canada High School. I’m not your average Asian, I’m actually a little bit taller. I enjoy laughing and making others laugh, I mean, who would complain about a free ab workout? I like seeing things in brighter perspectives, except for movies, those are always better in the dark. I’m made of what’s found in my family & friends, my music & art, my thoughts & my words.
