I could say I'm just another YAA contributor, but you don't want to underestimate the leadership power of all my fellow youth. From blogging, I've learned that writing is great, but it's versatility can only come when it provokes discussion and inquiry, and that's what we can collectively do best.
I want to rather get to know your insights, so always feel free to shoot me comments here and there.
Good day to you. 🙂 It’s been a while since I contributed here, but I am now an admin on the Youth of YYC project, which is on Facebook, Instagram, and in its own page here on Youth Are Awesome. Like my fellow bloggers Anna, Hui Wen, and Carol, I will be bringing you those quick snippets of everyday youth here…
Note: This event has been postponed to next Thursday (September 18th) due to the weather. We’ll see you then! School is a reality. The end of fun is not, however, despite popular belief. Take my word because Youth Central‘s Picnic Playground is going to be on the block soon. I’m sure you’ll be anticipating sleepless Thursday…
A leg up? During this past Saturday, I was at the National tournament over at Spruce Meadows, anticipating the “parade of nations” after the race. That was when they’d mention the winners for the design prizes of the Horses Jump to Give a Leg Up program. The number one winner would get $10,000, second place $7,000,…
In a way, I think the sight of Mt. Fuji in the distance from Tokyo is a parallel to the scenery the Rocky Mountains provide for Calgary. Let’s take a look at that sunset. Maybe we’ll see an experience like that perhaps one day? Check out the timelapse archive here.
What comes up in your mind when you hear “Youth Week“? Sunday was of course the kick-off day. I was at the Tutti Frutti kick-off event, which is the start of it all. If you missed out on the $4 youth cup fun, I suggest you to also check out Rebecca’s post on this day and most…
Sunrise has the power to revitalize us and award us with energy. The blended gradient of orange is unparalleled in its smooth and pleasant enthusiasm. And so, it’s always pleasant to look at those brilliant hues, day or night: Let time lapse into the morning. Find my collection here.
To put it simply, we are all about youth. Us youth come in many different personalities and beliefs; each of us are a part of different cultural and religious groups and have developed our own values. That being said, these differences are not always respected. Take sexual and gender minority youth as our featured group;…
Teamwork can lead to that refinement and satisfaction. It’s one excited feeling when we’re the “fresh blood,” and yet another enthusiastic one when we begin to witness the new “fresh blood” that come after us. With a new road ahead of us, we naturally tend to be energetic and set agendas for ourselves. Once we…
I’m still fascinated with the Northern Lights, so why not put a local spin to it? Here’s an amazing timelapse of an aurora sighting just over pretty much the top of our roofs: Find my timelapse archive here. 🙂
The stock text messaging app is satisfactory, but free alternatives do exist for us Android users. I’m honestly not a big fan of using Hangouts as the default messaging app (and it’s the only one that comes installed on my Nexus 5). On my hunt for a nifty new text messaging app, I came across…
We all have the times where our defenses crumble; we feel hopeless and even melancholic. Sometimes, it is a feeling of betrayal. It could be a surge of realizing how irresponsible we are. This might possibly be when we think we are “useless” and have fallen behind in really doing our best to activate our…
Selective colour is a photography technique that refines the focus while adding a bit of monochrome flair. Indeed, this trick can extend to timelapse making as well; I found this timelapse by Liban Yusuf as an especially interesting way to view the world. Maybe it’s the reflective nature of a monochrome scene but with the…
The default clock widget on my Nexus 5 lock screen ain’t too bad – it’s your basic digital clock, after all, and there’s not really much it can do beyond that. I’ll admit I’m a bit lazy to enter the unlock pattern, but in a world where features like active display on the Moto X…
I personally think that the default notification light setting on most phones don’t do the LED light justice. On my Nexus 5, the fact that white is the default colour used for every new notification almost seems to hinder the light’s multicolour capabilities. Thankfully, third-party apps are there to fill this disparity – I prefer using…
Long time no see. I’m getting quite sloppy with keeping up with blogging so feel free to give me an update, you guys. Writing about volunteering will sure get me back into shape and back into that enthusiasm. Youth Are Awesome is, of course, a program of Youth Central, but there are a ton more, as…
