Acting Tips

So I’ve realized that I am good at giving tips and you seemed to like my photography tips so here’s some on acting!

1. Don’t be shy: Actors are not shy people. So just give it all you’ve got, especially during auditions, that way people will notice that you are confident and willing. Don’t be afraid of making a fool of yourself, everyone else is too!

2. Practice your lines slow: This is a very important tip. You should always practice your lines slow, unless the director says otherwise. Just don’t go so slow or you will sound awkward. People tend to talk fast when they are nervous. If you are used to talking slow, when you perform and you start to get nervous, you won’t be talking fast, you will be talking at a pretty much normal speed.

3. Develop your character: Think of it this way, when you are acting you are not yourself, you are a completely different person with a whole backstory and personality to them. If you take some time and create a small backstory to your character, you will act more realistically and confidently.

4. Know your comfort zone: If you are not comfortable doing something, for example stage kissing or wearing a more revealing costume, don’t be afraid to say so! Ask for a compromise but, don’t wait last minute right before you are supposed to go on stage to tell someone. Say right away!  If you are uncomfortable on stage, it shows. The director may be a little upset that you don’t want to do something, but it’s more important that you are actually enjoying yourself while on stage.
