I am an occasional glasses gal. For me, glasses are necessary to be able to see distances – without them I am fairly blind. Makeup is a bit different when it comes to wearing frames, an extra accessory on your face. I like to think about trying to make my eyes stand out even when they are behind glasses. Don’t hide your eyes, let them share the spotlight by coordinating your eye makeup and frames! Here are 5 tips to consider when you pair up makeup with glasses:
1. Use a liner in a different color than your frames.
An eyeliner in the same shade as your frames can make your eyes and glasses blend together. To make your eyes stand out, try using a liner a shade lighter than the frame color.
2. Match liner thickness to frame thickness.
Liner makes a nice compliment to your frames. Draw a thick liner to pair with thick frames, and a thin liner to go with thin frames. Avoid a thick eyeliner and thin frames, as this can create an odd exaggerated impression.
3. Lighten up your eye shadow.
Opt for a lighter shade to highlight your eyes, whereas darker shades can become too heavy. A bit of medium tone blended in your crease can add definition to your eyes as well.
4. Cover up dark shadows and eye bags.
Darkness around your eyes can make you look extra tired, especially when combined with the shadows of your frames. Cover them up with a yellow-tinted concealer to lighten any any grays or reds under the eyes.
5. Curl your eyelashes.
Curling eyelashes are always a reliable way to wake up your eyes. Pump your curler from root to mid-lash to tip before putting on a coat of mascara.
