5 annoying types of people on social media

In a world where social media brings people together, doing certain things online can bring you a lot of hate. Avoid doing any of the following actions:

  1. Photoshop Mania

It gets really annoying when you keep seeing selfie spams of one person especially if the photos are not original. Don’t photoshop or filter your photos in weird colours; be confident about your raw pictures.

  1. Grammar Terrorist

While it’s not really necessary to do punctuations or capitalization in statuses, spelling a lot of words wrong rather makes you seem like you’re undereducated. These are seen by the public, you should present yourself decently.

  1. Grammar Police

There are certain people who try to stop grammar terrorists by correcting them on every mistake they make. Even though it’s annoying to see too many mistakes, it’s even more annoying to see comments filling up with corrections. Mistakes are mistakes; everyone should understand that. It’s unnecessary to point them out.

4. Depressing Status Updates

Having depression is a serious problem, but posting negative statuses constantly is unnecessary. Social media should not be where people rely on to solve their depression. It also could potentially provoke cyber bullying.

5. Attention Seekers

These are people who put themselves down to receive compliments. According to them, other people are obligated to tell them that they are pretty, or they’re smart, etc. Everyone should be confident about themselves and if the only motivation to post something that shows low self-esteem is to receive compliments, then don’t do it.

Katie is a native Korean who's been living in Calgary for 8-ish years. While her obsession with the Korean music industry (especially Exo) obscures her external image, she's not completely off the rail of academics, yet. Though she plays up to her Asian stereotypes, she is an avid fan of Sherlock. (She finished all three seasons in half a week). Ever since then, she has created her own mind palace.
