If there’s one way to tell that it’s summer, its the familiar tunes of ice cream trucks driving around the neighborhood, like this one right here.
Maybe it’s just me, but one of my favorite things about summer is ice cream trucks. You have to admit that at some point in time you have bought some type of cool treat from them. People just know when they come around by the music they play. And I’ll bet I’m not the only one who has gone outside or at least looked out a window when I heard the melody of an ice cream truck play. Whenever I think of one, fond memories of me chasing after them as a kid always come rushing back. They always had the best varieties of popsicles and ice cream, and whenever they stopped or drove around, kids finishing school would flock from all over, scrambling with change in their pockets for the hope of buying something cold and sweet on a hot summer day before everything got sold out. The excitement upon seeing the truck, the anticipation of it stopping, and the happiness that comes when you finally get your hands on that cold sweet delicacy that instantly cools you down on a warm summer day, are probably some of the best feelings in the world, especially when it`s with friends.
In any case, you’re never too old to indulge in the joy of finding and buying something from an ice cream truck. I haven’t seen any recently around my neighborhood, but if there ever is one coming around you’ll be sure to find me eagerly going towards it. Anyone else have sweet memories of ice cream trucks? If you do, I’d love to hear about them in the comments below!
