Alternative to University of Calgary’s PeopleSoft program

Did you try to make your schedule through PeopleSoft? Did you cry, moan or want to destroy the program? Me too. But I’ve found the solution!

A wonderful group of Computer Science students created a project for their CPSC 301 class. They created DNDN, DNDN’s Not Degree Navigator, which is much more user-friendly program. Unfortunately, their database isn’t linked to PeopleSoft’s (they have a local one instead), but it should be sufficient if you didn’t want to set up your University schedule through paper or Excel (I find it so agonizing signing up for classes).

By the way; when they recommend courses, double-check if you actually have to take them. Some are simply recommendations if you want the general degree–if there are concentrations for your degree, you might be able to get away with not taking certain classes. Just a little tidbit!
