The Blare of the Trumpets

In the silence of the moment, I was captured by the way you breathe,

The pure awe broadcasted on your face like the sound of silence was the greatest epiphany you ever heard.

I could hear the fireworks in your heart and the gear shift in your mind,

And when the silence sank I could hear my pulse,

the beating of my heart, reminding me I’m alive.

This is a short poem I wrote regarding the importance of a moment one year ago, and how that moment changed my future. This moment was quiet and tucked away, unnoticed until I realized it was re-playing in my mind.

Our lives are built out of millions of insignificant moments that collaborate to create our worldview, the way we view the world, and the way it views us. At each fork in our path we choose to go one direction and never look back, this decision is what defines us. In order to grow, we must face these decisions with a strong heart and learn to know when to stop shedding tears from our mistakes.

Dear reader, I hope that when an epiphany moment hits you that you take the time to bask in the peace that uncertainty presents.
