Tales of Time Forgotten
You’re seven years old, running as fast as your tiny little legs can take you across the grass
You’re embracing every single moment before the bell rings and you must return to class
You bask in the sunlight and embrace the crisp breeze on your skin
Your veins are filled with adrenaline as you squeal and run with your friends, in an attempt to win
You just got a new set of markers, but not just any kind – but the one with scent
You hope to color in between the lines and strive to succeed – to some extent
You pop the lid off and are overwhelmed by the aroma of grape, and lemon, and cherry
You finally finish your picture and as your mom sticks it on the fridge, you indulge in its glory
You’re a little older now, and you love capturing special moments on your camera roll
You never forget to snap goofy pictures of your friends or if you see a pretty sunset when you’re out on a stroll
You’re caught by surprise when you click on your drafts and memories and archives
You’re amazed to see how much you’ve changed over the years, and so many flashbacks are revived
You’re skipping through a variety of songs on your phone, determined to find the one to match your exact feelings
You feel something but you just can’t describe it, and for some unfortunate reason – everything sounds unappealing
You’re just about the give up but you stumble across a song – so vague yet rings a bell
You suddenly realize it was your favorite song from when you were 12, that you and your friends would always “sing” and yell
You’re finally graduating high school and as you approach the end, your future may seem unclear
You’re finally receiving the freedom you always dreamed of, yet sometimes the excitement is overcome by fear
You decide to take a step back and indulge in all of the precious memories created by your family and friends
Because even though the world is moving faster and faster around you, your memories will stay true to you till the end
