Since summer is already here, I would like to show off the cool day as well as week-long camps that are available to youth this summer. There are many organizations in Calgary that offer camps that are definitely worth going. Not only do they allow you to stay active throughout the summer break, but some programs may also quality for the Child Fitness Tax Benefit.
Whether day camp or a week-long camp, it is important to be prepared for the sun. Most of the summer camps would take place outside, so it is imperative that everyone bring plenty of water, bug spray and some sunscreen; also, as Calgary weather can be very weird, dressing in layers may be a good idea. Being prepared will allow you to have the most fun, make more friends and fully enjoy the best of the Calgary summer.
Here are some popular places offering free as well as paid camps:
University of Calgary Summer Camps
SAIT Summer Camps
YMCA Summer Camps
Calgary Zoo Summer Camps
Talisman Centre Summer Sport Camps
City of Calgary Summer Programs
Cardel Place Day Camps
Also make sure to check out the Calgary’s Child Magazine for some other programs and tips for youth and kids in Calgary.
