As promised, here is another poem, commenting on the Rwanda genocide of 1994. For more information, please visit this BBC news article.
Our people are scared, miserable, weak,
but won’t get help, nobody has courage to speak.
Disrespect, Torture, Rape, and Argument,
Nowhere to turn, Noplace to run
Dead bodies lying in the street,
Tutsis and others prostrate at their feet.
We will not stay here we will rise up
We are worth it, we will erupt
Despite our loss, Despite what we lack,
Rwanda has fallen, but we will fight back.
