If ever you are stopping in Thunder Bay, Ontario make sure to check out a local favourite, Persians.
This cinnamon bun-esk roll topped with either strawberry or raspberry frosting will capture the heart of any sweet-lover. The origin of the dessert are now unknown, but all I know is that I love Persians. In fact, I was so infatuated that after trying one at local chain, The Persian Man, I had to stop by at the local Walmart and buy myself a box to take home to share with my friends.
To make Persians at home would be relatively simple. Make a batch of cinnamon buns and then top them with either raspberry or strawberry icing, and voila, Persians!
No way. I’m from Thunderbay. And every time I go back to visit I have to have Persians and I’ve tried the cinnamon bun thing before and it’s just not the same. U just can’t duplicate that delicious treat. If u are EVER in Thunderbay u HAVE to have one, or a dozen. U won’t regret it.
