Most people don’t know what a primer is, let alone have one. A primer is used to prepare the skin for makeup, increasing coverage and the length of time the makeup lasts. Oftentimes, people layer on foundation, attempting to achieve such an effect. What they don’t know is that it can be reached much easier, and more effectively, through the use of primer.
Recently I bought Urban Decay‘s “Pore Perfecting” primer. Carried at Sephora, this primer smooths and softens skin to the touch. When applied on top my foundation went on thinner and more evenly; not only creating a more natural, less “cakey” look, but also saved me product. So although yes, it is yet another product to put on your skin, it actually creates a look of less, rather then more. Another bonus; my foundation lasted much longer, and looked virtually freshly done for hours. The primer itself spreads thinly and evenly across skin, and did not create a sticky surface while still absorbing, unlike other brands. Also, the primer does not have a strong scent, which I like, as strong perfumery odours oftentimes can become overwhelming.
The only downside to this product is the price, at $37 it is not a bargan. However, very little needs to be used and quality is always worth the price.
