Netflix is an American media services provider that has a high number of users. Having several different movies and t.v shows in several different languages it wasn’t a surprise when Netflix slowly started adding more and more animes as well.

Netflix started to add in mainstream animes such as Naruto, Bleach, Fairy tail, Fullmetal Alchemist, Attack On Titan, etc. Even though they have added these, the issue is that the seasons are not complete so several episodes are missing. Looking past that, Netflix even started to add animes that were not mainstream like Ouran High School Host Club, Inuyasha, Your lie in April, Rurouni Kenshin and more. Unlike the mainstream animes that came incomplete, these ones were not.

After this the streaming service started creating their own animes called Netflix Original. By doing this they started to create animes like Kakegurui, the Magi series, Violet Evergarden and Little Witch Academia. By doing this, Netflix has increased their anime viewers greatly.

They did produce a few live actions such as Death Note, Bleach and Erased.  The Death Note live action was the most speculated live action out of all of them and the movie had several Youtubers comment on it. The movie was based of the manga but it really only kept the first names and occupations of the characters. The response was not great and several issues were brought up like how the characters personalities were switched or how the ending was different.

Japan’s animation studios have several animes to create and with Netflix’s participation it has increased viewers, competition and its worldwide platform. Crunchyroll is a video streaming provider that focuses on anime and its new competitor is Netflix. It is said that Crunchyroll plans on producing their own anime like Netflix but nothing has been decided yet.

With Netflix getting more animes each month it will be no surprise if the platform gets some classic animes like Cowboy Bebop and Sailor Moon. Netflix even released that they are planning on adding the anime Neon Genesis Evangelion including its first movie.

Netflix is taking over  and it is going to impact several studios in Japan. Whether they partner with Netflix to produce and create new animes or work by themselves, Netflix is making its way into the industry.
