With more updates coming in by the day, we can see a very nice and fitting end to the NBA lockout! Teams can now hold informal training, practice sessions, and managers can now start working on the financial side of the game (contracts, deals, etc.).
Starting on Christmas, a new season consisting of 66 games will commence and fans can start gearing up to cheer for their favourite teams.
Now although the last few months have been a rollercoaster journey for anyone associated with the NBA, there may also be some advantages to the lockout as well. First of all, players get their well-needed rest on the off-season. Usually during the off-season players work on conditioning and personal development; however, with a longer off-season, many team doctors agree that players were able to incorporate rest into their training schedule. Also, with a shorter season, every game will count, and no team can afford to have nights off. That means we are going to see some good hard competitive basketball throughout the season!
With five games on Christmas day including the anticipated Miami Heat vs. Dallas Mavericks, many NBA fans may in the future call this holiday season where the NBA saved Christmas!
