All of us know about Lamborghini. They create some of the most luxury cars in the world, but for a high price, starting at around $300,000, and the most expensive being the $5.3 million Lamborghini Veneno Roadster. Many environmentalists raise concerns about these gas-guzzling cars, and in retaliation Lamborghini has released the new Lamborghini Asterion LPI 910-4, the first hybrid made by Lamborghini. In an urban environment this car utilizes its PHEV (Plug-in Hyrbrid), which allows it to use electrical energy, and for long trips on the highway it can utilize a powerful aspirated engine. It releases 98g/km of CO2 emissions, which is around 3-4 times less than the rest of Lamborghinis cars.

Not only is this car environmentally friendly, but it also looks good. This car takes a different approach in production than most of the sports cars. The comfort in this car is evident for many reasons, for example the seats being a little higher than the sporty counterparts. Furthermore, this car is more designed for the urban user that wants comfort and cheaper maintenance over the gas-guzzling counterparts.

Back in the 90s, many car companies, such as Volkswagen, Lamborghini, etc., bought out many electric company cars so that they could retain their business and prevent the development of environmentally friendly cars. One of the most leading, innovative brands in electric cars is Tesla, which has produced the Tesla Model S. This car runs on rechargeable electric power, releases no emission, and is very sleek and elegant. Furthermore, Tesla has revolutionized the industry and changed the mindset of the electric car industry. The owner, Elon Musk, got rid of the patents and made the technology public, because when he created Tesla he wanted to change the quota for cars to zero emission cars, and he feels that can best be achieved through everyone having access and being able to improve his technology.

Overall, these two brands have propagated the idea that luxury cars can be both environmentally friendly as well as stylish. This has created a new trend in the car industry, and further research is being done to improve the environmental aspects of cars.
