It’s Good, It’s Deep Fried

We previously posted about the Stampede and here is a quick delicious food review on the cool deep fried foods the Stampede has to offer.

Deep fried Oreos– It’s a spin on ‘milks favorite cookie’! If you thought Oreo’s are yummy then deep fried Oreo’s may just give your taste bud an explosion of deliciousness. It definitely tastes better than it sounds. For $5 it comes with 5 deep fried cookies, sprinkled with icing sugar and drizzled with chocolate syrup. They kind of look like chicken nuggets. The outside is crispy and the inside is soft but the hard cookie like texture is still there. Definitely recommend it!

Deep fried cheesecake– The look could be quite deceiving because it looked nothing like a cheesecake… or a cake! It is shaped like a bigger version of a spring roll and the inside is a warm liquid like cheesecake. Personally I am a big cheesecake fan so I liked it, though I wished it did not look so much like a spring roll.

Deep fried coke – Yes, a deep fried liquid! I had it last year but I didn’t see it this year at the Stampede. It looked like bits of batter and it came in a small sized coco-cola cup. I did not like it that much because it tasted more batter than coke in my opinion.

Deep fried jelly beans– A fan of these colourful chewy candy? Now you can get them deep fried! The jelly beans are not individually deep fried but instead there are a few in a deep fried ball sprinkled with icing sugar. This was kind of a let down because I was not expecting it to be like that. The outside is crispy and inside it is doughy with the jelly beans melted on the outside but the core still retained the chewy-ness. It was a good experience to try it but I would not get it again because I don’t like jelly beans that much. Be warned they stick to your teeth!

I have yet to try the deep fried strawberry short cake, and snicker bars which from the display looked like a corn dogs.

Which deep fried food at the Stampede do you like best?
