Tights/nylons can often gather runs (small tears or lines), especially those that are sheer, in a short amount of time. The best way to prevent this tragedy is putting them in the freezer before you decide to put them on. The reason being that the cold allows the fabric to contract less, and hold it in place while you tug on the nylons. As long as you can endure the cold feeling on your legs, then this is a great method!
If a run starts, and you want to stop it, you can also put clear nail polish on it.
