Happiness is a skill you build over time, and it may look different for everyone, but one thing research and real life shows is that it comes from small consistent decisions.

Figure out what happiness means to you

Happiness looks different for everybody. For some it may be finding a bigger social circle, for others it could be spending more time alone. Figuring out what that may look like for you is the first step to building a better routine to make you happy.

Focus on changing what you can

Truth is that you can’t control everything that happens in your life, and recognizing that is important. What you can control is how you respond to it. Saving your time, energy, and efforts from things that are out of your control not only puts you at ease but creates freedom.

Practicing Gratitude

Focusing on the things you’re missing leads to constant dissatisfaction, while recognizing all that you have in the moment  encourages contentment. Practicing gratitude, even for things you may not even noticing helps you acknowledge how much you already have, and how far you’ve come.

Take care of yourself

Your mental and physical health always go hand-in hand.Prioritizing sleep, exercise, and eating nutritiously. When doing these things consistently, your body often feels better and your mood usually follows.

Happiness isn’t always a permanent state but a habit that’s developed.
