Food Truck Review: Snoberry Ice

It’s finally summer time! With the glaring sun and the intolerable heat, it is a perfect time for Snoberry Ice’s refreshing, fluffy mountain of shaved ice, topped with lots of yummy goodness! Snoberry Ice offers different flavors of shaved ice, such as strawberry, mango and vanilla (Original), as well as a whole variety of delicious toppings. Also, it is possible to choose Sno-Bomb, which is shaved ice with vanilla ice cream.

Being a fan of strawberries, I chose to order the Sno-Bomb with strawberry flavored shaved ice and vanilla ice cream, along with strawberries, blueberries, mango dices, Strawberry Burst, and of course, gummy bears! The filled bowl of ice cold treat costed a total of $7. Although I thought it’s slightly expensive for shaved ice, the drool-inducing appearance and the flavor of the treat immediately made me forget the price. The pink-colored shaved ice melted instantly as it entered my mouth, yet the strawberry flavor lingered for awhile. The fruits toppings were good choice to have with the shaved ice, as they tasted very fresh, and built upon the refreshing feelings which the shaved ice offers. However satisfied with most of the toppings I ordered, I found the gummy bears terribly difficult and time consuming to chew on. But overall, I found the ice cream and shaved ice a enjoyable treat to have for a hot summer day.

For those of you wondering what the Strawberry Burst is, they are basically tiny sacks with strawberry syrup in them. When popped, the strawberry flavor bursts out of grape-shaped sack and fills the entire mouth with rich strawberry flavor. Out of all the toppings, Strawberry Burst is probably my favourite. If you are ever visiting the Snoberry Ice truck, I strongly recommend this unique topping.
