Firestone Restaurant and Bar: A Lethbridge Must Try!

Today being Sunday, I thought it was appropriate to write an article on Sunday brunch. I mean, who doesn’t like brunch? You get all the delicious breakfast foods that you love and enjoy so much, but you don’t have to rush your meal to go and catch the bus. It’s perfect! The big thing I love about brunch is having breakfast foods such as eggs

My delicious french toast!

benedict, stuffed french toast, and crepes, things that I can’t make myself.

Next time you’re in Lethbridge, visiting relatives or whatnot, and you decide to go out for breakfast/brunch I would absolutely suggest going to Firestone Restaurant and Bar. One Yelp reviewer described of it “The service was great, the food is wonderful”  and that, just like me, they “don’t live in Lethbridge but will come back to this little gem any time [they are] in town.” I myself have gone there twice for brunch now, and both times have been completely satisfied with my order. The first time I got eggs benedict; the hollandaise sauce was creamy and delicious, while the whole thing came with a side of fresh fruit. The second time I went I got stuffed french toast, that came sprinkled with cinnamon, stuffed with cream, and draped with a berry compote. Yummy! I’m always impressed by how good the quality is at Firestone when I go for breakfast; you really get what you pay for, even the coffee is delicious.

One thing really good that the Firestone has, which makes it a lot more family/ large group friendly is their menus. Not only do they include a variety of breakfast and lunch choices so that everyone can be satisfied with their meals, but they also have a brunch menu separate from the dinner menu, rather than the brunch selection just being a page tacked onto the back. Really, this is the best way to do it, all confusion as to what can be ordered is eliminated, along with special requests to prepare a dish that is not currently available. At Firestone brunch is available on Saturdays and Sundays, from 9am to 2pm.

My biggest complaint about Firestone is that food was a long wait. That being said, they were fairly busy and the food was definitely worth it when it arrived. Plus the environment and ambiance of the restaurant is very nice, everything is newly renovated, and waiting in such a nice place wasn’t really bad, especially when catching up with family and friends. The most important thing to note is that Firestone is not a good breakfast destination for a quick breakfast, one to “grab and go,” as should be expected with most nice restaurants.

Overall, the Firestone is my favourite breakfast place in Lethbridge (although it is open for dinner as well I haven’t been there for dinner.. yet!), and has a calm, modern environment, the perfect destination for a family Sunday brunch.
