As youth, we have a lot of opportunities for self improvement.  But instead of using out time to improve our lives, we play video games and waste many of those opportunities.  We may often feel guilty when purchasing video games online, since we know that the money we are spending on video games could have been spent on things like our education, or capital goods.  Playing an unhealthy amount of video games can lead to procrastination, and loss of sleep.  Being addicted to video games can be very unhealthy especially when one’s trying to do well in school.  Many youth feel guilty for using so much of their time on video games, and many look for a solution to this issue.  However, I am also youth, and I’m also guilty of playing video games.  So, instead of offering a solution to the root cause of the issue, let’s talk about how to minimize the guilt when purchasing games online!

Use Humble Bundle

Purchases support Charity.

Humble Bundle is a Storefront for video games, and other related software.  “How can a store that sells video games decrease the level of guilt I feel when I purchase video games?” you might ask.  Well, when you purchase games on Humble Bundle, you are directly supporting charity.  You can even choose the charity you want to support, and what percentage of your money goes to the charity.  Humble Bundle makes it very transparent how the money you are making will be spent.  In 2017, Humble Bundle raised more than 100 million dollars for charity, the most notable ones being: American Red Cross, Doctors Without Borders, and WaterAid.  Your purchases at Humble Bundle will support charity.  Surely, helping people around the world helps lessen the guilt you may feel when purchasing video games.

Apart from charity, there are many reasons to use Humble Bundle

Saving Money

It’s in the name.  On Humble Bundle, bundles of video games, books, and software are offered.  These bundles usually have a theme along the lines of cyber bullying, internet safety, action games, and so much more.  These bundles offer many games at a much cheaper price.  Bundles of games that would sell at retail for upwards of $100 can be found in bundles for less than $15.  If you’re feeling guilty about spending too much money on video games, this might just be the place for you to save some of that money.

Conclusion

I may not have offered a solution to your guilt, but hopefully by purchasing games on Humble Bundle instead of on other online platforms, you can eliminate some of the guilt you feel when purchasing games.  You will be helping people all around the world, and saving some money while you’re at it.  No reason to feel guilty!
