There is nothing I depend on more than good, quality music. I find myself constantly hungry to find new artists to listen to, though sometimes it can be quite difficult and time consuming to forage around for a couple of new tunes. When I do find these new gems, however, you may find me listening to them on repeat – and I’m sure you would too when that happens to you. So, to shorten some of your search for music this month, I have gathered an array of my favorite songs for February. They are (and in no particular order) a collection of relatively new independent artists who range from indie-rock to electronic and pop. Put these in the background of whatever you are doing and enjoy!

1. Purity Ring

Megan James (vocals) and Corrin Roddick (instrumentals) are an electronic music duo who formed to create Purity Ring in 2010. They have both originated from Edmonton and are about to release their second album, Another Eternity, on February 27. Keep a look-out for them because they are stopping at Calgary on June 2nd for their 2015 World Tour!

2. Kishi Bashi

Kishi Bashi is a self-recorded and self-produced project by Kaoru Ishibashi. Kaoru is a singer, multi-instrumentalist, and songwriter born in Seattle and raised in Virginia.
