In the hype of the Olympics, it seems we have all neglected the monumental achievement of mankind; the Curiosity Mars Rover has landed! The Curiosity, equipped with billion dollar technology, even includes multiple cameras and a laser that can determine the minerals within a rock.
While you were hoping for a Canadian medal, us science buffs were placing all of our hope on the 33 per cent chance that the mission will become a success. The Curiosity has enough battery to last an estimated three years.
