Creative writing is one of the most calming and expressive forms of activity one can perform. The beauty of it is that each individual can take it in the direction they choose. I personally adore scary prompts but there is a non-creepy prompt as well. Here are some of my favorite ones that I came up with to inspire your next creative writing piece!
1. Marco was the worst criminal our small town had ever seen. He checked the boxes of nearly every single gruesome crime. In fact, the townspeople were so scared, when Marco was finally killed, the mayor put his body in a glass box in the center of the town for everyone to see. This worked, as our fear and paranoia gradually lessened. But on one eerie night, I heard a bone-chilling scream and a desperate cry for help. As I walked past the glass box the next morning, it was empty.
2. As I stood behind the block, all I could think about were the blood, sweat, and tears that carried me this far to the finals. This was the last event of my senior year; tons of emotions and pride were packed into this race. After what felt like an eternity, the gun finally sounded.
3. A woman was administered the wrong amount of anesthesia. When she awoke, her eyes, voice, and muscles were still disabled. Yet her nerves were not. She panicked as she realized she had no way of telling the surgeons that she was conscious.
4. Just as the last man on earth was preparing to sleep, he heard a knock at the door.
5. For the first time, they were ready to test their newly designed robots. The twins, they called it. But when the twins were activated, the audience applause abruptly stopped. The two robots started speaking. In a language that nobody could understand.
6. A young boy convinced his parents that he was brave enough to be home alone overnight. His parents gladly agreed, happy to have a night off. 15 minutes after his parents left, he heard laughing from downstairs.
