Who doesn’t adore Pixar movies? I, for one, have watched every Pixar film since Toy Story, and some of you might know that that means every single one of them.
Pixar is one of the most decorated computer animation companies of all time, with an impressive award count of 26 Academy Awards, five Golden Globes, and two Grammys. All of their fourteen feature-length films have been part of the top 50 highest-grossing films of all time, and for excellent reason; the quality of their movies, from stories to music to the impeccable animation of their lovable characters, is matched by few.
ROYGBIV, a gorgeous minute-long Pixar supercut made by Rishi Kaneria, celebrates the use of colour in Pixar films using cuts from each of the company’s fourteen films. It puts on display the vast range of colours Pixar has used over the years and examines the entire colour spectrum through the lens of Pixar movies. It’s a wonderful reminder of how important colour is in conveying emotion and mood, and won’t fail to bring a little Pixar nostalgia to your day.
