(Or rather, To Read Before Summer-Ends-And-My-Free-Time-Dies-of-IB)
Now that you’ve made a Summer Bucket List, it’s time to ̶w̶i̶n̶ ̶s̶o̶m̶e̶ ̶m̶o̶n̶e̶y̶ ̶s̶o̶ ̶y̶o̶u̶ ̶c̶a̶n̶ ̶c̶h̶e̶c̶k̶ ̶t̶h̶e̶m̶ ̶o̶f̶f̶!̶ make a summer reading list!
Although, really, those are the same thing. Doesn’t matter if you’re not an avid reader – flipped through a magazine? Studying for the SAT? Reading this blog post? It all counts!
Enter Youth Read 2012!
The Calgary Public Library is giving away $50 giftcards and lots and lots of books, every week! (Not to mention the grand prize of $250!)
You don’t even have to read (but why not?) to enter this “reading contest”! Every week, starting, well, four days ago, a list of (rather creative) challenges is posted on the CPL website. There’s three to choose from every week, and you can do as many as you like! – And what a coincidence! One of the challenges for this week just happens to be:
List the top 100 books YOU would like to read before you hit 100…
or at least make a summer reading bucket list for 2012.
Here’s mine:
- 1984
- Shiver (Wolves of Mercy Falls)
- The Help
- Bitterblue
- Crime and Punishment
- Mockingjay
- Macbeth
Check out the competition for some inspiration.
So. What are YOU reading this summer? (Besides YouthAreAwesome.com, that is ;D )
Oh – did I mention? You don’t even need a library card to sign up!
