A few days ago, Bondi Beach had been faced with a mass shooting during a Hannukah celebration. As the situation got worse, 15 people were killed and 40 were injured.

In honor of those dead and injured, surfers, pregnant women, and children gathered and swam or paddled to mourn over the lives that had been lost.

It was a silent circle of peace and as soon as the whistle blew people had cheered and clapped. Walkers and visitors who came to honor the victims had stood on the short to support the memorial.

They honor one of their victims, also their youngest one, a 10 year old. The community had crossed the footbridge where the shooters had first fired.  As well as singing Waltzing Matilda, in honor of the victim who was named after their very own national anthem.

As Bondi Beach still mourns over the loss of this tragedy, many have stepped in to support and help out those who are in need of coping with the trauma they had faced.
