Is Bohemian Rhapsody actually worth seeing?

The other day, I went and saw Bohemian Rhapsody, which is a biopic based around the band Queen, and more specifically Freddie Mercury. I personally am a pretty big Queen fan, so I was incredibly excited to see this movie. Now I don’t want to say I was disappointed by what I saw, but I definitely wasn’t moved, nor was I speechless by the end.

The execution of the story wasn’t that great. It was sort of rushed, (yes I know, it’s hard to tell the whole history of a legendary band in 2 hours) and it felt like the movie was just listing off some of the main events. It didn’t get into as much as I hoped it would.

The music, of course, was phenomenal, but the best thing about the movie was probably the choice in actors. Rami Malek played Freddie Mercury so well. He exceeded all of my expectations and I loved his take on the lead singer. Ben Hardy played Roger Taylor (the drummer) and I will say, I thought he did a wonderful job as well. Adam Lambert had a little cameo (which I didn’t know about until later), and he actually toured with Roger Taylor and Brian May for a little while.

I’m not saying don’t go see this movie it’s absolutely awful, but don’t expect it to be great if anything goes for the actors and the music.
