A Very Late Game of Thrones Rant

I know that Game of Thrones ended a couple weeks ago, but I’m still mad about how it ended.

There are gonna be loads of spoilers about the 8th season in here so be warned. I also haven’t read the books, so this is solely about the end of the TV show.

So first off, the biggest thing I’m mad about, is the fact that they completely threw Jaime’s character arc out the window. I was honestly rooting for him, since he left his sister and was living his best life with the newly knighted Brienne of Tarth and I was really happy for him. And then he went straight back to King’s landing as soon as he heard that his sister might die. We all knew it was coming, and I was honestly hoping that he’d be the one to kill her. But nope, they died together, and Cersei got a way better death than she deserved.

I also think that they ruined Daenerys. She became her father, she was a tyrant. I loved her in the first few seasons, she was a strong woman who wanted to do her own thing and she was absolutely amazing. Then she killed a lot of people, and that was bad but I was sure she was gonna redeem herself. But the eighth season came around and she burned a whole city. I hate to say it but by the end I wanted her to die. She was too far gone.

I miss Theon but I’m not sad he died, not everyone could’ve stayed alive.

I don’t know how I feel about Jon going back to the night’s watch. I feel like he isn’t protecting anything anymore? The White Walkers are all dead, everyone’s friends with the Wildings, I really think it was pointless. But hey, he had a cute reunion with Ghost so that was nice.

I’m actually really happy that Sansa became queen of Winterfell. It’s about time they became independent and I think she deserved it, she’s gone through a hell of a lot and she’s gonna be a fantastic queen.

I was a little shocked by the whole Arya and Gendry thing but honestly it was cute and I think they both deserve to be happy, even if they didn’t end up together.

The thing they did with the book at the end was SUPER cliché and I kinda hated it.

Though I know he’s a good choice, seeing as how he knows exactly what happened at every point in history, I didn’t like that Bran became king of the 6 kingdoms. He seemed like a bit of a boring character in my opinion and there were definitely better choices.

I’m glad Tyrion is still alive and that’s all I’ve got.

Thank you for reading an incredibly unstructured rant.
