A post about another online magazine on a (basically) online magazine? Blasphemous! But that is exactly what it is: we are talking about the one and only Canadian youth-run online magazine, The Young Wanderer.
As taken straight from the site, here is what TYW is in a nutshell:
“The Young Wanderer is a student-led online magazine based in Alberta with the aim of showcasing the thoughts and perspectives of high school students across Canada. By promoting coherent, creative and quality-based content, we strive to ensure that the perception of youth is a positive one.”
Basically, the youth of today have gotten quite a reputation for being disturbing little punks. The general stereotype is that we seem to constantly be texting, slandering people on the internet and in general, getting dumber. But this is not the case.
“According to Fernando H. Cardoso, former President of Brazil, “today’s youth are more aware and have a broader worldview than generations before them” —which is all the more reason for the world to adopt tangible solutions that heighten youth engagement; The Young Wanderer is one of them.”
