Review: Arginine Resist X3 Reinforcing Leave-In Spray by L’Oréal Paris

Transitioning out of winter and into nice weather, I find that my hair feels a lot less dry and brittle. Although, it could be in combination with the fact that I’m using a lot of products in my hair. I’ve always had pretty good hair but I went through a phase where I dyed and used heat on it a lot, so my hair was always falling out. It never really recovered until I started using a lot of different oils and a good shampoo/conditioner, but this product was really the icing on the cake (not literally, please don’t try to eat this).

10440991_832952870067859_3047426419501472760_nThe L’Oréal Paris Hair Expertise Arginine Resist X3 Reinforcing Leave-In Spray has a very long name, but the promised results are simple. “L’Oréal Paris Hair Expertise Leave-In Reinforcing Spray contains a key ingredient: Arginine – which is essential for your hair. This amino acid is vital to help restructure fragile hair, ensuring that it is less likely to fall out. Hair is stronger, restructures from root to tip. 64% less hair fall after the 1st application. Hair becomes 2X more resistant to breakage. 95% of women saw a difference.”

There are a lot of chemical names in the ingredient list I won’t bore you with, as this isn’t an organic product, but I did do some research and you can be rest assured that there are no super-bad chemicals. That being said, it does contain parfum (or fragrance) which can trigger allergic reactions, so be aware of that if you have allergies or skin conditions.

Price: ♔♔♔♔
I can’t remember the exact price of this product, but I got it from Superstore so it wasn’t too expensive. It comes in a 200mL bottle (there are no other sizes as far as I’m concerned) and it will last you one-two months depending on the length of your hair. I know it says that it targets the roots, but I spray it up and down my entire length of hair liberally. My hair is around 16-18 inches long (root to tip) and this product has lasted me around two months using it three-four times a week. I’d say that this is a good price for the results that it yields.

I usually have a problem with overly-scented products due to my sensitive nose, but the smell of this product is actually quite pleasant. Pleasant, but strong. Try to hold your breath, keep your mouth closed and spray away from your face. I use a lot of different hair products, so the scent of those overpowers this spray and I can’t say for certain whether or not the smell of this product lingers on your hair. Even if it does, it’s a good smell, so don’t worry too much about it.

Application: ♔♔♔♔
You all know that I’m a weakling by now, so me giving the application a full score means that it’s so easy a 7-year-old could do it. The product does come with a cap (which I obviously lost) so you can store this away without worrying about it spraying everywhere. The nozzle does not get stuck at all and the product comes out in a very nice mist. You are supposed to spray this on damp hair, meaning that you can’t actually tell when your hair has been coated. For me, I just spray until I can’t handle the scent anymore. (Wow, I am so professional.)

Effectiveness: ♔♔♔
This product has worked very well for my hair as it doesn’t fall out as much anymore. My hair feels a lot stronger, fuller, and overall just healthier after using this product. I think it has also helped in part for my hair to grow. My hair grows at an extremely slow rate and it hasn’t been this long in years. The only reason that it does not have a full rating is because I can’t be 100% sure that the results I’m seeing are solely due to this product.

Overall: ♔♔♔♔♔
I would definitely recommend this to anyone who is dealing with hair loss, or just wants stronger and healthier hair in general. It’s as easy as spraying it in after a shower and this product’s available at probably every drugstore and grocery store. I will definitely continue to use this product to maintain my hair’s fullness and texture.

  1. I agree, I used it for sometime, and my hair fell less than before using it. Thanks for the review, I will keep using it if god wills.

  2. I came across the “Loreal Men Expert” one, not realizing it was a men’s one til I got home. Do you think there is much difference between them? I’ll will have to look for the woman’s one.
