I know, I know that title was probably the worst thing you’ve ever read but I needed your attention somehow. As most people with an internet connection and friends may know, the amazing and witty love story, the Fault in Our Stars By John Green, is being fault-our-stars-movie-posterreleased as a movie on June 6. You may also know that the movie trailer has officially come out and this is a very special event, for me at least, and many other teenage girls around the world. If you haven’t read the book I highly suggest going to do that right now. Basically the story is about Hazel Grace and Augusts Waters, two cancer patients, Augusts being in remission and Hazel suffering from thyroid cancer, meet at a support group and eventually fall in love.

Before I go any further be sure to check out the trailer here:

I want to talk about what I thought of it and what I now expect from the full length film.

1. Hazel and Augusts: Obviously Shailene (Hazel) have great  Ansel (Gus) chemistry, since they worked together already in Divergent, so that was fantastic. However I absolutely love Shailene’s acting but I just don’t think she looks the part for Hazel Grace. With that said, Ansel looks like the perfect Augusts, but I don not really like his acting. I feel like it is quite forced.

2. Quality: Although I want to think the story is not another cheesy teen romance, deep down I know it is. I just hope the movie isn’t super cheesy and teeny bopper, however judging by the trailer I think it will. Every now and then though I do enjoy a good trashy teen novel but I’m not too big on the extra cheesy dialogue and acting they put in movies made for teens.

3. My biggest expectation: I really do hope my favorite scenes will turn out as magical and memorable as they did in the book. fault-in-our-stars-movie-hazel-gusI just really hope they don’t tamper with certain bits such as the famous swing set scenes, and I was super happy to see the egging scene because that leads me to my favorite quote from the book; “You daughter’s car has been egged by a blind man. Please go back inside or I’ll be forced to call the police.”

4. Most excited to see on screen: Without a doubt, I can not wait until I get to see the scenes where they are in Peter Van Houten’s  house discussing An Imperial Affliction and truly see the craziness up close and personal.

I hope and encourage you to leave your opinions about the trailer or your expectations in the comments below!
