This weekend marked the glorious entry into December. A part from marking the beginning of your Michael Buble Christmas album rampage, December can also mean a time for giving. As Technology Editor for YAA, I will be doing four editions of the top five presents for the lovely technology geeks in your life. The four categories will include: smartphones/music players, cameras, games and devices, and finally, tablets/computers. Enjoy the festivities with some cheer and the glistening lights that radiate from these splendid tech gadgets.
Smartphones (in no particular order):
1. Samsung Galaxy S4 ($99.99 to $459.00)- Probably one of the hottest models on the market, the S4 is equipped with a powerful quad-core processor, a 5-inch screen and a 13 megapixel camera. This is definitely on my wish list!
2. HTC One ($99.99)- This phone not excels in its design, it also is able to take great photos in low-lighting. The ultra-high resolution screen will have you in a daze for the holidays.
3. IPhone 5 ($649.83)- A list of the top cellular devices would not be complete without including “i” in it somewhere. The fingerprint ID sensor, a faster processor and a better camera flash is a major improvement has already grasped the hearts of millions who have fell on the Apple train again, making it one of the most popular devices for this season.
4. Google Nexus 5 ($49.99 to $488.00)- Kit-Kat patty-wack, this simplistic and modern design is powered by Android™ 4.4, KitKat®. The device delivers a high-resolution display on its 4.95-inch 1920-by-1080-pixel display. The Nexus 5 is a refreshing change from its competitors at a more reasonable price (considering the unlocked value of the phone).
5. Samsung Galaxy Note 3 ($199.99 to $703.99)- The epitome of large smartphones, the Note 3 does not disappoint. The device is equipped with a blazingly fast upgrade desired to be enjoyed by its 5.7 inch display. With its full HD screen and long-life battery, this phone will put a “mega” smile on anyone’s face this holiday season.
