I just learned about Surrealism in Art class not too long ago, but I’ve never seen surreal photography like this:

Leonid Tishkov is a Russian artist who has taken many artistic photographs of himself and the moon in seemingly impossible positions, such as in his “Private Moon” series. As the often only source of illumination at night without electricity, what can it symbolize?

This is the story of a man who met the moon, using this symbolism to write poetic verses. These imaginative works display the moon as a “private utopia“. Check out even more of his works at his personal blog. I wish his work could be displayed somewhere in Calgary.
